What a throwback

Sometimes I’m not sure which era I live in.  In some ways, I totally feel the whole modern woman thing.  And in some ways, I think part of me lives in the 1950s.  What have I been doing in between watching the Olympics in the evening?

Working on another new quilt, this time for my niece…

… and baking chocolate chip cookies.

I’m all about multitasking, people.

  1. I am drooling over those cookies. DROOLING. I love baking, but baking has to stop for now as I try to squeeze the last few weekends out of swimsuit season.

Jesus, I don’t know where you find the energy! My guys haven’t hit the one year mark, maybe that’s it??! Once they’re in bed, all I can manage is to veg out in front of the t.v. or computer. Kudos to you!

You are indeed Supermommy! Where’s the cape?

  4. I should bake cookies but they are not “GD” approved. They look so good. My grandmother suggested I take up knitting to “keep my hands busy”. I feel busy enough and my kids aren’t even born yet! I bet your house is always picked up too. 🙂

  5. We’re not throwbacks. We’re cool.

  6. In the last couple of days, since the weather has cooled down, I have been a baking/cooking fool! Chicken noodle soup, cornbread, pumpkin bread, ham and bean soup and spaghetti sauce from scratch! I don’t know what has gotten in to me, but I like how quickly my freezer is filling up for fall!

The cookies look yum-o! Are they regular tollhouse? Do you bake them on parchment paper? They look like they have risen very nicely, which is why I ask. Sometimes mine are a little flat, sometimes not. Any tricks?

  7. Not a throwback … but a modern renaissance woman! 🙂 Those cookies look yummy. Mmm-mmm.
